2014 SNARE DRUM OLYMPICS.

The Snare Drum Olympics were started in 1998 by John Aldridge, founder of Not So Modern Drummer as "an excuse to get a bunch of really cool drums into one room at the same time."

And we are pleased that some of our snare drums were included in the judging, AND WINNING, in 2014. This international showcase features the best snare drums in the world has an all-star cast of celebrity judges picking their favorites based on many different parameters.




Steam-bent solid wood maple snare drumThe Single Ply Solid Wood winner was Chicago Drum's Steam-Bent Maple 14" x 5.5" drum with a tung oil finish.
